In the Field with Sherwood Outdoor Kitchens

With views of Vancouver’s skyline and the North Shore Mountains, this penthouse terrasse was designed by our Trade Ambassador Sherwood Outdoor Kitchens, in collaboration with our Dealer Partners Kerrisdale Lumber Home.

Matt Herbert, Founder and General Manager of Sherwood Outdoor Kitchens worked with the homeowners to create a space that would match the penthouse’s modern finishes, while highlighting the spectacular view.

The existing stone ledger wall needed to be incorporated into the outdoor kitchen design. This was accomplished with our Anthracite powder coating finish, a modern dark gray with a slate undertone, paired with our minimalist Stainless Steel handles and a striking Dekton® by Cosentino waterfall countertop. Matt Herbert adds, “the addition of Urban Bonfire’s slatwall backsplash helped to further blend the addition of the new outdoor kitchen with the existing space.”

The homeowners enjoy hosting parties and wanted to design a multifunctional area. The outdoor kitchen includes a pull-out refuse and recycling accessory, sink, flush mount drawers, a 48” DCS grill, and generous counter surface for maximum preparation and cooking space while hosting large gatherings. Complete with a firepit, outdoor seating area, TV, sound system and outdoor heater, this is the home entertainer’s dream.

The space is located 30 stories up and completely exposed to the elements, which meant that choosing weather-resistant materials was essential. Urban Bonfire’s powder-coated marine grade aluminum cabinetry, paired with Dekton®’s high-performance countertop was the perfect combination for this coastal environment.
